Women's International Football Exchange
Independent, global analysis.
Our Mission
The Women’s International Football Exchange (WIFX) exists to support a clearer, more connected understanding of women’s football through independent, structured analysis.
As the global game expands, the ability to evaluate performance consistently across regions remains limited by uneven access to high-quality data and differences in how that data is captured, interpreted, and shared. What is measured, how it is framed, and what is left out all shape the conclusions that follow.
WIFX is built on the belief that improving how we understand the game requires improving both the data behind it and the systems used to interpret it. By expanding access to more consistent and affordable data and increasing cross-confederation visibility, WIFX aims to support a more representative view of the global game — one that helps broaden opportunities, understanding, and pathways for girls and women in football worldwide.
Core Initiatives
Data accessibility and affordability
Expanding access to high-quality data across the women’s game, reducing barriers to analysis and enabling more consistent evaluation.
Cross-confederation evaluation
Building models that allow for meaningful comparison across regions, accounting for differences in competition structure, style, and data coverage.
Data Science, Human-Centered
Combining structured data modeling with human-centered design principles to build evaluation systems where assumptions are explicit, context is preserved, and outputs are interpretable.
Applied AI and emerging tools
Developing AI-supported analysis tools and ensuring the women’s game is meaningfully included in how these technologies are applied and advanced in sport.
Who We Are
WIFX was developed by a team combining human-centered design, research, data science, and applied AI, focused on how complex systems are evaluated, compared, and interpreted at scale.
The team brings experience from technical environments where analytical decisions carry real consequences—such as defense, intelligence, and aerospace—where assumptions must be explicit, trade-offs acknowledged, and models are judged not only by outputs, but by how those outputs are constructed and communicated. That perspective shapes how WIFX approaches football analysis, beginning with the understanding that all evaluation systems embed priorities: what is counted, what is weighted, and what is left implicit.
WIFX draws on established analytical principles—consistent weighting, normalization across uneven competitive environments, and transparent comparison—while placing particular emphasis on context, with the goal of evaluating the global game with greater clarity and accountability.
